SEMESUR AT THE SEVILLE NIGHT RACE

The medical response plan was marked by a high number of participants, as after the number of participants was reduced to 10,000 runners in the previous edition, this year nearly 21,000 runners registered.

Two Advanced Medical Posts were set up to provide assistance for possible muscle injuries, dizziness, sprains, falls, etc.

A large team of SEMESUR doctors, technicians and nurses was deployed, who were located both in the start/finish area and at key points along the route.

For healthcare plans of this magnitude, it is essential to take into account all the factors involved in sporting events of this type, such as:

• A high number of participants.
• A wide age range among participants, from young people to seniors.
• Night-time temperature.
• The route and distance.
• Participants in competition wheelchairs and handbikes.

Fortunately, it was possible to enjoy a night race without any serious incidents, on a calm evening where the importance of sport was highlighted, an essential activity for our health.
