After last year's MotoGP World Championship, which was the first to be held since the COVID-19 pandemic, the world's premier motorcycle racing competition returns in 2022 stronger than ever.

The Spanish MotoGP Grand Prix is a motorcycle road racing event that has been held in Spain since 1950. Since the 1989 edition, it has taken place at the Circuito Ángel Nieto in Jerez.

The 2022 Spanish MotoGP Grand Prix, the sixth round of the Motorcycle World Championship, will be held from Friday, 29 April, to Sunday, 1 May. During these days, the three categories—MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3—will compete.

According to the provisional calendar released by the FIM and Dorna, the Circuito de Jerez will host the Spanish Motorcycle Grand Prix on 2 May 2021.

SEMESUR'S MEDICAL COVERAGE AT THE MOTOGP WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP IN JEREZ

Semesur Assistance is responsible for the medical services provided during the event, delivering healthcare support to riders, track personnel and racing teams, including mechanics.

A complete deployment of ambulances and mobile intensive care units (MICUs) has been coordinated. Semesur deploys nearly 200 professionals from different medical disciplines focused on motorsport, including healthcare assistants, emergency medical technicians, nurses, doctors and specialists. This year, with the return to normality, a second SEMESUR medical team has once again been deployed at the circuit exclusively to provide medical assistance to spectators.

As every year, all SEMESUR personnel receive prior training to respond quickly and effectively to any incident that may occur on the track. To provide the highest level of medical care, we also have a fully equipped medical centre with all the necessary resources to provide immediate treatment to riders.

THE MOTOGP WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP AFTER COVID-19

After two years without spectators due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the MotoGP World Championship will once again welcome fans back to the grandstands. Although wearing face masks is no longer mandatory, it is still recommended to follow basic hygiene measures and maintain physical distancing whenever possible.

This year, attendance over the three-day event is expected to exceed 200,000 spectators, similar to the editions held before the pandemic, when thousands of fans travelled from across Spain and from many other countries to enjoy the Spanish MotoGP Grand Prix.

Once again, SEMESUR ASSISTANCE will provide the highest standard of medical care at the Circuito Ángel Nieto, supporting the riders throughout the MotoGP World Championship.
