INFOCA PLAN – COORDINATION OF RESOURCES

On Saturday 24th, the INFOCA Plan was activated following a wildfire that started around midday in Yunquera (Málaga), specifically in the Cortijo Capellana area. As a result, the A-366 road was completely closed between kilometres 28 and 30.

COORDINATION OF RESOURCES WITHIN THE INFOCA PLAN

A full coordination process began immediately, with SEMESUR responsible for coordinating the UMIF units (Forest Fire Medical Units).

This operation involved a major deployment of aerial and ground resources, where effective management and coordination between all the participating teams were essential for the successful development of the response.

Aerial resources:

• 3 aerial firefighting aircraft.

• 1 surveillance and coordination aircraft.

• 3 transport and firefighting helicopters.

• 1 large-capacity helicopter.

• 1 amphibious aircraft.

Ground resources:

• 70 forest firefighters.

• 3 firefighting vehicles (water tenders).

• 1 mobile meteorology and communications unit.

• 1 SEIF regional command group.

• 1 UMIF (Forest Fire Medical Unit).

• 1 forest fire analysis and monitoring unit.

• 3 environmental agents.

• 3 operations technicians.

• 3 firefighting technicians.

• 1 supervision technician.

• 3 logistics personnel.

END OF THE YUNQUERA WILDFIRE

After assessing the damage, it was confirmed that the Yunquera wildfire affected 20.2 hectares of forest land.

Finally, the wildfire was stabilised and brought under control thanks to the efforts of a great team of brave and dedicated professionals.
